IHFA Mission

Our mission is to guide and empower others on their path to complete health and fitness, by restoring, improving, and preserving complete structural, biomechanical, and functional integrity across the lifespan. In this process, I value teamwork, communication, and individuality.

Allison Bailey, MD is a board-certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
PM&R physicians treat any condition that affects function. Here are some things she loves about her field. PM&R:
  • Takes a whole body approach to health, looking beyond surgery and medications to try to help people.
  • Focuses on function and quality of life instead of on a particular organ system or disease.
  • Is collaborative, recognizing the importance of other members of the healthcare team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists.
  • Puts patients at the center of their care, focusing on what is most important to them and involving them in every step of their recovery.
  • Is open-minded in its approach to health with a growing acceptance of the value of other methods of healing, such as nutrition, yoga and acupuncture.

"One of my greatest joys in life is inspiring my patients to improve their health naturally. Although medications are wonderful when we need them (and I have certainly prescribed my share), I love that so many problems I treat will also respond to treatments such as acupuncture, nutrition, stress reduction, exercise and physical therapy.  It’s exciting when patients can stop taking drugs that may have been costly or causing side effects because they’ve figured out the root cause of their problem and been able to heal themselves through natural means.  Even when patients do need medications, they often report feeling better (energized, stronger, better sleep, improved mood) when they get on a treatment plan that addresses lifestyle factors."
